For EPFO subscribers, good news! Here’s how free Ayushman Bharat health insurance will work

This is for you if you work for the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). The more than 7 crore subscribers of EPFO would be happy. Determining whether EPFO personnel should now be covered by Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance is a topic of discussion inside the organisation.

All EPFO board members will soon receive coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance programme. By the end of the month, it is likely that this idea will be accepted. Telling you that Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance offers insurance coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh means that you won’t have to pay anything out of pocket for charges up to that amount.

The plan states that this programme will be open to EPFO pensioners and their life partners. The Ayushman plan will not need any additional fees from EPFO members. The EPFO is proposing to pay the 111 rupee ($1) subscription fee for each subscriber.

The Ayushman Bharat Card was created by the central government to offer free healthcare to all citizens. The start of this programme was in September 2018. Under this programme, every cardholder is eligible for free medical care up to Rs 5 lakh.

Those who are eligible may obtain this card. Both offline and online access is possible. There are several services available with the Ayushman Bharat card. Chronic illness is also covered by this plan. This programme pays for all out-of-pocket costs before and after hospitalisation. Transportation costs spent while receiving treatment are also covered.

All EPFO-registered workers have access to the insurance programme known as Employees Deposit Linked Insurance, which is run by the EPFO. This programme offers up to 7 lakhs in insurance coverage. This programme uses an EPS and EPF hybrid. Everyone has to be aware of this because under this programme, the nominee of an employee who dies while doing work-related duties may be entitled for financial support of up to Rs. 7 lakhs.
