‘Pakistan team fought till the last’
Former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan said, ‘The kind of criticism that is usually faced after losing to India, it did not happen this time. This is because before the match the players of both the teams had shown a lot of camaraderie towards each other. Then our team also fought vigorously till the last over.
‘We played like champions’
Former Pakistan Test spinner Iqbal Qasim said, ‘It was a great match and it was also very close. I think Pakistan team played like a champion even in the absence of Shaheen Afridi. Unfortunately, we missed the fourth fast bowler in this match. Our young fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Shahnawaz Dahani bowled tremendously.
‘Short pitch balls won India’
Former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed said, ‘It proved to be a good idea of the Indian team to use more short pitch balls. Babar Azam’s dismissal and Virat Kohli’s catch drop in the first over of Naseem Shah were some important things.
‘The bowling was awesome’
Shahid Afridi said, ‘Pakistan pushed till the last, it was a good sign. I think Naseem and Mohammad Nawaz bowled really well. Javed Miadad said, ‘Our bowlers did really well. It is a very good sign to have such enthusiastic and energetic fast bowlers in the team.
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal said, ‘I think India played well under pressure. Hardik was excellent in bowling and batting. He is indeed a champion all-rounder. However, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar reacted somewhat differently. Wasim said that giving the last over to the spinner was a big mistake of Babar Azam. At the same time, Shoaib Akhtar said that in the end both the teams played bad cricket and Hardik’s performance was decisive.
