Moeen Ali will lead the squad in place of Jos Buttler against Pakistan.

Before the series of 7 T20 matches against Pakistan, which will begin on September 20, the England squad has experienced a setback. Due to a leg injury, England captain Jos Buttler will be unable to participate in this series. Jos Buttler can still play in the last two games despite his fitness improving. Jose won’t be participating, thus Moeen Ali will assume leadership of the group.

Jos Buttler has travelled to Pakistan with the team despite being injured. The T20 World Cup will be staged in Australia next month, thus this series is crucial for England. For this major tournament, the England and Wales Cricket Board wants to make sure that its skipper is in top physical condition.

The batsman has been urged to take things carefully, according to a Daily Mail story, therefore all-rounder Moeen Ali will captain the squad in T20 matches in Karachi before the action moves to Lahore.

Last year’s trip to Pakistan was postponed.

After conferring with physicians, Buttler, 32, stated on Thursday that he may participate in the next two games. He said that the reason he went on the trip was to get to know the new white ball coach Matthew Maut. According to Butler, the situation surrounding participation in the next two games of the series would become obvious in a week. Butler stated, “Whether or not I play the game when I return to Pakistan after a long period as captain, is significant to me.”

Pakistan is touring England for the first time since 2005. Last year, the England squad was also had to go to Pakistan to play two T20 matches. However, the England squad had postponed their trip of Pakistan due to security concerns.
