According to a report on Tuesday from the cyber security intelligence company CloudSEK, the number of cyberattacks on the Indian healthcare sector was the second-highest in the world in 2021, accounting for 7.7% of the segment’s overall occurrence.
US healthcare industry saw 28% of all worldwide assaults, according to CloudSEK analysis on “Increased cyber attacks on the global healthcare sector.”

With a total of 7.7% of all assaults on the healthcare business in 2021, India registered the second-highest number of attacks, according to the research.
According to the data, the 7.7% cyber attack incidence rate in the Indian healthcare sector equates to about 71 lakh records.

The Internet of Things (IoT), remote health monitoring, electronic health records, and other technical advancements in the healthcare business, according to the company, have given cybercriminals new opportunity to target the industry.
According to statistics compiled by CloudSEK, 1.87 lakh recordings have already been made in the first four months of 2022.
At a worldwide basis, the mechanics of attack appear to have changed in 2022. According to the survey, Thailand, which experienced over 10 crore records in the first four months of 2022, was the country most adversely affected, with Australia being the worst-hit with almost 70 crore records.
