Sonali Chakraborty, a Bengali actress, died on Monday at a private hospital in Kolkata after a long illness. Her actor-husband Shankar Chakraborty and their daughter survived her death at the age of 59.
Chakraborty, a well-known Bengali television personality, was suffering from liver complications. She had been in the hospital for months receiving treatment.
She also appeared in movies like ‘Dadar Kirti’ (1980), ‘Har Jeet’ (2002), and ‘Bandhan’ (2004).
She was most recently seen in the mega-series ‘Gaatchora.’
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences to the bereaved family and expressed her grief over her death.
